Where are we located?

We are located right outside of Lake Lure & Chimney Rock in village in Rutherfordton, North Carolina

Is there parking?

Yes there is free parking as you drive up the driveway please park on the right in the field where signs indicate.

What should I wear?

We suggest waterproof closed toe outdoor footwear and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. The experience is outdoors so please make sure you dress appropriately. If you are doing one of our hikes wear closed toe good tread hiking shoes.

Can I stroke the Highland Cattle?

You can get up close when advised you can do so, to make sure you are kept safe. Whilst our cattle are friendly and inquisitive, they are farm animals, and can cause serious harm if they are not in the best of moods. We will give you safety instructions.

Can I bring my own food for the cows?

We provide snacks for coos.  They are picky and only like certain treats that we will provide.

Can I go in with the cows?

Unfortunately not. Only staff and people who are insured are able to go behind the fence with the cows. Guests are able to get close to the cows through the fencing as shown in the gallery.

Can I bring pets?

No unfortunately all pets, besides assistance dogs will need to stay at home.

Can I take photos?

Yes, definitely. Take as many photos of the highlands as you like, and we’re always happy to take pictures of you with them too. Don’t forget to tag us!

Are you open to the public?

We are a private site and visits must be pre booked via our Experiences pages.

What ages are the Highland Experiences suitable for?

They are suitable for all ages, for little ones, we do ask that they are well behaved, supervised at all times and don’t run, touch or shout around the animals. This can upset them and we would have to end your experience if this happens.

What’s in the afternoon tea?

The afternoon tea is traditional afternoon tea-Indulge in an afternoon tea. This includes classic sandwiches, scones and alongside a Highland cow cupcake each and sweets. What more could you want? How do I know which dates are available?

We book most of our tours thru airbnb experiences and the tourism development.

 We’re open traditionally  Friday to Mondays by appointment.

We do not allow walk ins.

What is a Group tours?

Group tours usually are 20 people open to public unless you request a private tour.

Go to airbnb and look under your experience you booked. You usually can access this under messaging.

How do I rebook?
